Meta Quest+
Meta, the tech giant formerly known as Facebook, has recently unveiled its new virtual reality subscription service called Meta Quest+. This subscription service aims to provide users with a monthly selection of two brand-new games.
For a price of $7.99 per month, Meta Quest+ offers compatibility with various models, including the Quest 2, Quest Pro, and the upcoming Quest 3. This move by Meta represents their ongoing strategy to generate consistent revenue from their Reality Labs division, which is primarily focused on developing virtual reality and augmented reality technologies.
In the company's first quarter, Reality Labs incurred an operating loss of $3.99 billion, despite generating $339 million in revenue. This announcement seemed to have affected investor sentiment, as Meta's shares closed down by 3.5% on Monday.
Subscribers to Meta Quest+ can expect the release of new games on the first day of each month. These games can be enjoyed for as long as the subscription remains active.
In July, subscribers will have access to "Pixel Ripped 1995" and "Pistol Whip." August will bring "Walkabout Mini Golf" by Mighty Coconut and "Mothergunship: Forge" by Terrible Posture Games.
Meta Quest+ is now available for purchase in the Meta Quest Store, starting from Monday.
