Asus ROG Phone 9
On November 19th, it was reported that the gaming phone market seems to be narrowing, but as a member of the ROG family, ASUS' ROG gaming phones have been thriving. This year's ROG gaming phone 9 series came much earlier than before, following closely behind Snapdragon 8 Ultimate Edition!
The ROG 9 series continues its iconic design, especially the Fearless Eye and diagonal lines, with a thickness maintained at 8.9mm and a weight of 227 grams increased by only 2 grams.
The ROG 9 Pro has increased the number of Mini LED beads from 341 in the previous generation to 648, almost twice as many, with more gameplay options: it can display Chinese text and upload custom GIF animations (resolution 266 × 247).
The front screen has not changed much, still featuring a Samsung 6.78-inch E6 AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2400 × 1800, typical brightness of 1600nits, and peak brightness of 2500nits.
In terms of performance, the processor is naturally Snapdragon 8 Ultimate Edition. In terms of memory storage, the standard version has a maximum of 16GB LPDDR5X-9600 and 512GB UFS 4.0, while the Pro version has a maximum of 24GB+1TB.
In terms of imaging, the main camera has been upgraded from Sony IMX890 to LYT700, with a sensor size of 1/1.56 inch and an effective pixel count of 50 million. It supports 2x conversion, optical stabilization, and 12 million pixel mode. The main changes are the upgrade of the six axis anti shake Hybrid gimbal from version 3.0 to 5.0, an increase in motion compensation from ± 3 degrees to ± 5 degrees, and a 66% improvement in stability.
The ultra wide angle lens still has 13 million pixels, a free-form surface lens, and a maximum zoom of 0.7x. The standard version of the third camera has a 5-megapixel macro, while the Pro version, like the previous generation, has a 32 megapixel telephoto lens and supports 3x zoom and optical image stabilization. The front end maintains the previous generation's 32 million pixels.
The battery capacity has been further increased from 5500mAh to 5800mAh, with an energy density increase of 3.5% and a lifespan extension of 25%. However, the charging remains unchanged, with 65W wired fast charging and 15W wireless fast charging.
In terms of audio, it is still jointly tuned with Dirac Virtuo from Sweden, with small gold label certification and advanced 3.5mm headphone jack. At the same time, the included protective case supports Audio Repositioning technology, which allows sound to be emitted from the bottom and converted to forward sound, and has been specially tuned and optimized for sound effects.
