Huawei's Pura 70 Series a Smash Hit, Pura 80 Series on the Horizon

Huawei's Pura 70 series, the tech giant's annual flagship released earlier this year, has surpassed 10 million units shipped. This impressive milestone, coupled with the recent launch of the Huawei Mate 70 series, positions Huawei to potentially claim the top spot in Chinese smartphone market share for December.

The Pura 70 series comprises four models: the standard Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro, Pura 70 Pro+, and Pura 70 Ultra. All models feature 6.6-inch to 6.8-inch OLED displays with 1.5K resolution, protected by basalt tempered glass and capable of 120Hz refresh rates. The rear XMAGE imaging system, a highlight of the series, boasts a 50MP primary camera with a large 1-inch CMOS sensor. The Ultra model further elevates the camera experience with a 50MP telephoto lens and a 48MP ultrawide lens. Powering the devices is a 5200mAh battery that supports 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.

Looking ahead to 2025, Huawei is expected to unveil the Pura 80 series in the first half of the year. Rumors suggest that the series will feature custom-designed large-sensor main and periscope telephoto cameras. Additionally, the battery capacity is anticipated to reach 6000mAh, and the devices may incorporate side-mounted fingerprint sensors.
